NOTE: After download is complete, if double-clicking GX9FREE.EXE either does nothing or generates a Windows error message, download this fix (ZIP file and READ ME instructions).
All menu options later accessible to you in the Pro Edition are visible, although many will not fully operate in the FREE Edition. If you later purchase the Basic Edition, some of the menu options disappear and are not available. Any global operation in the FREE Edition can be setup and saved. However, when you execute (run) the operation it will either not process at all (and inform you immediately) or function in a very limited manner (such as Exporting only a single record, providing a raw count of the number of Main Contact duplicates in GoldMine, or Import of a single record). When you purchase a license, your designed setups are readily available to run. The SQL Query Builder is fully functional. This can be run not only upon GoldMine data, but upon any accessible ODBC-compliant database. Conversion of CSV text data (obtained from Excel, for example) into dBase tables is fully available. Conversion of a SQL Query result set into dBase is fully available. For portability, reliability, flexibility and accessibility – dBase tables are used to store incoming Source data (such as from another CRM system, an accounting system, Access tables, etc.). Therefore the conversion options are active in the FREE Edition. The Contact File Verifier is functional. Only those portions of the procedure that write to GoldMine tables have been deactivated. This is a data diagnostic specifically designed for GoldMine only. It points up issues and problems within GoldMine’s data model, automatically creates a report and offers suggestions on how a database technician might fix the issues. Canned Report: Filled Field Count. A very comprehensive Map of field usage in a data table is automatically assembled and displayed as a text document in Notepad. For any GoldMine table or ODBC-compliant table. Canned Report: Unique Value Listing. Unique values in any data field are analyzed and displayed in an auto-generated Notepad report showing value counts, percentages, designed width of field, maximum-width value. Dual listing is first displayed alphabetically and then by recurring field values, most to least. For any GoldMine table or ODBC-compliant table. The BR7 Utility is included in the GoldBox 9 FREE Edition and is also freeware separately. This is a very powerful dBase data browser, perhaps the best one available anywhere. Ideal to associate in Windows as your default dBase table opener. GoldBox Views display, but in an extremely limited manner. GoldBox Views are the interactive piece of GoldBox and can be loaded by general users of GoldMine. They can show linked information, allow data entry and records posting, expand entries in the GoldMine Details tab, build a set of Relationships / Organization Charts, display archived GoldMine History and Email Messages, act as an interactive, user-driven report writer and much more. 250-plus Function Set is selectable and documented in the FREE Edition. In fact, all of the GoldBox 9 F1 Help documentation is available in the FREE Edition. GoldBox 9 Functions are used in filters for data tables, in expressions for replacing fields and as translated merge-field values directly inside of a SQL Query. Some of them are native dBase, such as Trim(), Time(), Date(), Str(), Val() and others. Many more are designed for GoldBox implementation, such as FormatZipToUSA(), ActualLast(), DNCscan(), GXtranslate(), GVUelapsed(), GXstripHTML(), LiftLines(), RotaryTable(), FieldContains(), SmoothCompany(), SmoothName(), TimeStagger() and VLinkByQuery().Click here to see what’s included in the FREE Edition »
